Minced Green Peas

Ingredients

  • 1 kg, mutton mince
  • 2 large, onions, chopped
  • 2 large, tomatoes, chopped
  • 1” ginger, finely chopped
  • 10 cloves, garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 cup, green peas, boiled
  • 1 tsp, ginger paste
  • 1 tsp, garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp, yoghurt
  • 14 tsp, turmeric powder
  • 1tsp, red chilly powder
  • 2tsp, coriander powder
  • 1tsp, cumin powder
  • 12 tsp, black pepper powder
  • 12 tsp, garam masala
  • 3-4, green chillies, finely chopped
  • 12 cup, coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • whole spices (2 cloves, 2 cinnamon sticks, 2 cardamom, 2 bay leaves)
  • 3-4tbsp, oil or ghee
  • salt, as per taste

Method

Wash and drain the water from the mince in the strainer. Marinate the mince with ginger and garlic paste, yoghurt, turmeric and keep aside. Now take a pan and add oil or ghee and full spices. When you get an aroma of the spices, add the chopped onions, chopped ginger and garlic, green chillies, tomatoes and salt and keep on low flame. When the onions and tomatoes turns soft and translucent, add the red chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, garam masala and the marinated mince. Add two cups of water and mix well till the colour of the meat changes (from red to brown). Stir the meat to ensure that there are no lumps. Add green peas and water if required cover and let the mince cook for another 10 mins.

When the mince is done, check for salt and spice, and add as desired. Finally garnish with the chopped coriander leaves and serve with roti, parathas or rice.
