Kale Desi Style

Ingredients:

  • 3 bunches kale
  • 2 onions, medium-sized, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, small-sized, chopped
  • 1/2” ginger, finely chopped
  • 3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 7 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 14 tsp turmeric powder
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 3 tbsp fresh grated coconut (optional)
  • salt to taste

Method:

Separate the kale leaves, wash and dry on a kitchen towel. Chop the leaves coarsely and put in the cooking pan on a medium flame.Add the chopped onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, oil and salt into the pan.

Cover the pan with the lid and let to cook on a low flame for 15 minutes. (You will notice the colour of the kale change from a bright green to a darker green).

If it suits your taste, add fresh grated coconut in the last 2 minutes. (Potatoes and/or mushrooms may be added, if desired). Serve with chapatties or naan [Indian bread]
